Montclair's Master of Social Work program prepares you to provide a range of clinical and advocacy services to vulnerable children, adolescents and their families. The 60-credit program is offered full-time or part-time, with online and in-person options.

Explore Your MSW Options

In-Person Day Cohort

Engage face-to-face with faculty and peers and complete the MSW in as little as two years full-time.

In-Person Evening Cohort

Balance graduate study with work and other responsibilities through an evening class schedule.

Online MSW

Study in synchronous and asynchronous evening courses while completing in-person practicum experiences.

Advanced Standing MSW

Students with a recent CSWE-accredited BSW may complete the 33-credit advanced standing option in one year full-time.

During the Program

Develop knowledge, values and skills for ethical, culturally responsive and evidence-informed practice
Complete supervised practicum experiences in human service agencies
Work with diverse populations in settings such as mental health clinics, schools, hospitals and child welfare agencies
Build close relationships with faculty and peers through a cohort-based learning model
Prepare for careers in clinical practice, advocacy, community services, government and private practice
Customize your studies with graduate certificates in areas such as child advocacy, data management, harm reduction, Spanish for health professionals and substance use counseling
