Graduate Program Session

Doctor of School Psychology (PsyD)

Montclair's Doctor of School Psychology (PsyD) prepares professionals to support the academic, behavioral, and emotional success of children and adolescents through evidence-based school psychology practice. In this session, you'll learn how the program combines doctoral coursework, supervised field experiences, and applied training to prepare graduates for advanced leadership and service roles.

Choose a five-year pathway for students entering with a bachelor's degree or a three-year advanced standing option for certified school psychologists.
Build advanced skills in assessment, intervention, consultation, and collaboration across diverse educational settings.
Complete a year-long internship and meet coursework requirements for psychologist licensure in New Jersey.
Explore a hybrid structure that supports flexibility, with the five-year pathway also leading to School Psychologist Certification and an MTSS graduate certificate.

Graduate Program Session

School Psychologist (Certification)

Montclair's 65-credit School Psychologist Certification program prepares graduate students for careers as certified school psychologists through a comprehensive interdisciplinary curriculum and intensive school-based field experience. In this session, you'll learn how the program builds expertise in psychology, education, counseling, and supervised practice to support student success.

Study a curriculum integrating school psychology, educational psychology, counseling, multicultural psychology, and special education.
Gain intensive practicum and externship experience as an apprentice psychologist in partner school districts.
Complete a NASP- and CAEP-accredited program that meets requirements for New Jersey School Psychologist certification.
Become eligible for both the New Jersey school psychologist standard certificate and the National Certificate in School Psychology.
