Counseling (PhD)

Montclair's Counseling (PhD) prepares counselor educators, scholars and leaders through advanced study in counseling theory, research, supervision and teaching. Students work closely with faculty while developing the research, instructional and professional skills needed to contribute to the counseling field in academic and leadership settings.

Develop advanced skills in counseling research, counselor education, supervision and teaching.
Work closely with faculty mentors while building an independent research and scholarly agenda.
Gain experience that connects doctoral coursework with teaching, supervision, research and professional practice.
Prepare for careers in counselor education, higher education, research, clinical supervision and leadership within the counseling profession.
